This rugby shirt was worn by Norman Williams, who grew up in Canton in the 1930s and 40s. Norman attended Canton High School for Boys during this period.
The red rugby shirt represents Williams House, one of the four houses that students were divided into in the 1940s: Boswell, Williams, Brockington and School (became James). This specific design for the rugby shirt was used after 1939.
