Trenuth Seager, son of George Seager explained his father "moved to Cardiff in the 20s and married my mother in 1927 who lived at The Royal Exchange Public House Cowbridge Rd Cardiff. (Her father was the Landlord). At some time my father was employed by Cardiff City Council and that is why he was involved in the building of the Memorial Arch in 1935. My understanding is that he was head of a team in building the bridge. He talked very little about his past but I remember him saying he was responsible for the building the Arch. I guess in truth he was in charge of a group of men who built it. I think he was there when the King and Queen passed under because I have a photo taken from the crowd".
