Hibo moved to Cardiff from Djibouti in 1991 and when her mother visited she gave Hibo the Ethiopian coffee pot to remind her of home.
Hibo remembers her family enjoying drinking coffee:
"Even though my family are from Djibouti, my mother always enjoyed going to Ethiopia for holidays and drinking Ethiopian coffee. When I came to Cardiff in 1991 it was something I missed but I was very happy when I found out I could get Ethiopian coffee here!
Growing up my family always enjoyed drinking coffee. In our Djibouti home we had a lady who would come in especially to serve coffee. She would freshly grind the coffee beans each time and coffee would be served on a low decorative table which everyone sat around on the floor. This pot reminds me of making traditional coffee which tastes very different from the Italian-style coffee most people drink in Britain. It is not very strong, but has lots of flavour."
