This placard was made by Chris Newman who was involved in the campaign to save the pool at the Welsh Institute of Sport.
The South Wales Echo reported on 5 October 2007 © Media Wales Ltd:
Stella Walters, 62, who swims at the pool every day, said: “We handed in a petition signed by 4,500 people objecting to the closure so I feel this delay is just to take the wind out of our sails." The 35-year old pool faces closure because managers claim it needs £200,000 of work and the space could be better used for other activities, such as judo.
Despite the campaign, the decision was made to close the pool.
