This puck dates from 2006 when Cardiff Devils, the city’s ice hockey team, celebrated their 20th Anniversary.
John Lawless, the Devils’ player-manager at the time, remembers their first home game at the Wales National Ice Rink in 1986:
“I had thought maybe 1,000 fans would come and see us, maybe not. When we came out to a full house of 2,500, I don’t think any of the players could believe it!”
Mark Batchelder tells us about going to watch the Cardiff Devils play: "I go to watch, but not as often as I'd like. There's a great atmosphere there and the fans are pretty vocal. If the drummers above the goal ever stop playing, you'll probably hear 'Let's go Devils, let's go!' and you'll probably end up joining in too!"
