Tickets for the women's Champions League final held at the Cardiff City Stadium on 1 June 2017. Lyon beat Paris Saint-Germain 7-6 on penalties. The tickets belonged to Rhianon Plain who attended the game with her friend Sarah. Rhianon tells us why she attended the game:
“With a keen interest in football I wanted to experience as many Champions League events as I could while it was being held in Cardiff. As well as watching the women’s final I also had tickets for the men’s final (my friend was successful in the ballot) and visited the Champions League Festival in Cardiff Bay.
Our seats for the women’s final were located in the Ninian Stand opposite and proved to be a good vantage point. The French fan base were a lively addition, singing and chanting throughout the match. The match itself wasn’t too entertaining, ending 0-0 after extra time which led to the game going to penalties. I remained neutral however the Paris Saint-Germain fans created such a good atmosphere even though they didn’t lift the trophy they deserved a lot of credit.”
