This game of ‘Jacks’ belonged to Ira Mills-Calford, who grew up on Manor Street in Cardiff in the 1950s. Ira remembers playing different games with her friends in their garden sheds.
‘Jacks’ was a popular game in the 1950s and 60s, and involved scattering the seven metal ‘jacks’ on the floor, bouncing a ball and picking up a ‘jack’ before the ball bounces a second time. Ira’s set is missing the blue ball.
