A sign from Exit, a LGBTQ+ club which used to be on Charles Street. Arran Rees tells us "I started going to Exit when I was 17 (underage, but somehow managed to get in.) A group of us would sometimes come down from Merthyr after school on a Wednesday and just go straight out, but mostly on Saturday nights. (Looking back, that probably was not the best thing to do whilst studying for your A Levels). I felt safe coming to Cardiff, going to Charles Street and staying with friends. I have many fond memories of just going out to Exit, dancing, drinking and being totally relaxed."
