In 2010, Quotient Bioresearch opened a state of the art radiochemical facility in Cardiff. Ray Duffin explains the work carried out in their laboratories: "Quotient Bioresearch is an international organisation responsible for radio labelling 40% of the world's drugs. Radio-labelling plays an essential role in drug testing and it is part of working towards human clinical trials, because it helps to trace new drugs in the body. It will help to detect how the drug is working and how long it is in the body for. This means that a drugs process can be followed through the human body in clinical trials; it is effectively marked, labelled!"
