By the time it closed on 30th September 1896, the Cardiff Fine Art, Industrial and Maritime Exhibition had been visited by over a million people.
Thousands of people from the Valleys travelled on the Taff Vale Railway and disembarked at a purpose built station at the Exhibition.
This souvenir glass belonged to Tegwen Jones née Bowen who visited the Exhibition with her mother, Rachel, when she was 15 years old. They travelled from Cwmgwrach to Cardiff for the Exhibition.
