In March 2009, Cardiff Friends of the Earth wore masks like this while protesting on Queen Street against Cardiff Council’s plans to build an incinerator in Splott. Despite the protests, building for the incinerator began in the summer of 2012. Local groups, like Cardiff Friends of the Earth, continued to protest after construction began.
